Danish campsites can be awarded from one to five stars by The Danish Camping Board. The stars are awarded on the basis of The Danish Camping Board’s classification system.
Every year consultants come on an unannounced visit to the campsites to see if the campsite lives up to its classification.

There are one daily inspections of the site, and the camp warden is in charge of the daily management. If the campsite is not supervised 24/7, either a phone box or an emergency telephone must be provided for security reasons. Reception hours are posted.
There must be a noticeboard at the reception with information on: regulations, current prices, site grading, camp warden's office hours, office and telephone number. There must also be information about the telephone numbers of Falck, police, doctor etc.
There is at least one shower so that you can change in peace indoors and at least one shaver socket with mirror, shelf and clothes-peg. All campsites have flushing WCs.
During the period 20/6-20/8, there must be supervision from 8 am-8 pm. For the rest of the time during the open season, the camp manager or assistant manager must be readily availble on call.
The noticeboard on the site displays general information and tourist information and also a map of the site and environs. If not possible to buy general groceries and gas at the site, details of shopping facilities, distances involved and opening times must be displayed on the camp notice board.
Minimum one shower per 25 pitches and minimum one electric point for shavers/hairdryers per 35 pitches plus minimum one sink for laundry.
The kitchen has minimum one hotplate/gas ring per 50 pitches and hot tap water.
Playground with minimum three tools. Facilities for caravans and motor caravans and autocaravans, i.e. slop sink and discharge and filling facilities for autocaravans with fitted wastewater tanks. Minimum a quarter of the pitches have electric hook-up points.
Qualified supervision on the site day and night during the period 20/6-20/8. The entrance is closed with a bar, chain or gate between 11pm and 7am. Information on facilities, fire fighting equipment etc. and their location on the site is displayed via a map on the noticeboard.
The reception has brochures and information about the region. There must be shopping facilities in the immediate vicinity of the campsite.
All washbasins have hot and cold water, there is a baby changing room with separate entrance and at least one family bathroom per 100 units. There is at least 1 large washbasin for washing clothes, 1 washing mashine and 1 tumble dryer.
Playground with a number of tools corresponding to other activities for children, one or several common rooms. 70% of the site pitches have electric hook-up points. Separate tent pitch area.
The reception is open during the period 20/6-20/8 from 8 am-8 pm. Minimum two of the best known credit cards accepted.
Shop on the site selling basic goods and food 8am-8 pm during the periode 20/6 - 20/8.
90 % of the site pitches are minimum 100 square metres. Separate tent pitch area, and bicycle racks.
There is a baby changing room with shower for slightly older children and a toilet plus a room for the disabled with its own entrance.
Minimum one shower per 17 pitches, and also one bathroom for families per 75 pitches besides a number of separate shower cubicles with doors. The kitchen has minimum two hotplates/gasrings per 30 pitches, oven available, as are washing machine and tumbler.
Playgrounds and an area for ball games. Common room with TV and good facilities for caravans and autocaravans. Minimum 80% of the pitches have electric hook-up points and a minor part of these pitches also have discharge facilities.
The site has a large reception area and a well-stocked shop open from 8 am-8 pm during the periode 20/6 - 20/8. All units are a min. of 100 m², and several are 120 m², there are also deluxe units.
Separate toilet and lavatory blocks with soap dispensers and hairdryers. Separate sanitary section for children with child-sized toilets and washhand basins etc. Bathrooms for families for rent. In-door dining room adjacent to one of the kitchens. One spin drier and one industrial tumbler per 200 pitches.
A central playground and several minor playgrounds, common rooms with and without TV.
Minimum 90% of the site pitches have electric hook-up points and a quarter of these have discharge facilities and direct water supply.
